May 2008!

Ok, well Liz has been in charge of this site since it’s inception in early 07. I am going to take a stab at learning how to utlize wordpress (webpage software), which seems very straight forward. I’ve started by removing the pick theme and put a more basic blue design, but stay tuned because this site will be changing a lot more. Before the heavy development can commence, I need to get my older desk top up and running, which shouldn’t be a problem. I’ve been keeping the large old CRT & power hog tower offline while I take advantage of Liz’s work laptop. Side note, it is interesting how a kindergarten teacher requires a laptop more than a consultant engineer, more on that later.

whoops– it’s been a long time!

I guess we’re not too good about updating this site! All is well, we’ve been really busy lately with visitors almost every weekend! Maria and Jen came, then Joe and Carly along wiht Ryan and Malorie, and this past weekend Emmy was here! Jamie and Amanda are coming the first weekend in April. We love having visitors!

Phil’s been working a lot and researching motorcycles even more, and I’ve been pretty busy with grad school. I’m looking into switching schools next year, to a school that is 3 blocks from my house! It would be so convenient! It’s still a city public school, so I’m sure it would have its problems as well, but the convenience would be awesome, and I’m ready for a change. So we’ll see about that.

I’m signing up for 2 summer classes, but other than that my summer is FREE! I think this will be my first summer OFF from working. I can’t wait!

Spring break starts for me on Friday, I’m off until March 31st. We’re running the Crime Victims 5K on April 19th in Patterson Park. Phil’s supposed to be running with me regularly….but he’s not too good about that. :)

I’ll try to keep this a little more up to date!

Adios– Liz

WE’RE MARRIED!!!

September 23, 2007 on 8:52 pm | In General | No Comments

Sorry it has been sooo long since our last update..we have been extremely busy! The wedding was fabulous, we had a wonderful day. It went by in fast motion, that’s our only complaint! Thanks to everyone who helped make it so great. You can see pictures at www.generationsphoto.net , the password is MASON.

We spent our honeymoon in Kona, Hawaii, and it was nice and relaxing. We’re back to real life now…I LOVE my class this year! I’m in kindergarten again and for now I only have 13 kids, which is sooo nice. They’re a fun group. The kids are so confused about my new name, but they’re getting used to it. One girl said, “I don’t understand how you could get married if you’re just a kid!” Another girl insisted that I must be a grown-up and another said, “No, she’s a kid, just a TALL kid.” HAHA

Phil’s parents visited last weekend and we went to Reggae and Brew at the Zoo…it was awesome. Nick visits next weekend and my family will be here the weekend after. We love having visitors!

That’s all for now!

IT’S SUMMER ALREADY!

Wow, we’re really bad about updating this site!!! SO much has been going on…I finished up my first year of teaching (so exciting!), and all in all it was a successful year; I will miss my first class. I was home in Connecticut for my shower and to deal with wedding details last week. For all of you who came to the shower– THANK YOU!! It was great! :) We are really excited about all our new things for our house. The wedding is coming up quickly, and if anyone still needs a hotel at the connecticut grand PLEASE call asap! They are only holding rooms for us until July, so make sure you call soon and tell them it is for our wedding.

Tomorrow is my first day of teaching summer school…I’m teaching the kids entering 2nd grade and I’m supposed to have 24 of them…we’ll see how that goes! The theme for the whole month is “Egypt”….which I don’t know much about but I guess I will learn! The curriculum we’re supposed to teach them is really challenging, which doesn’t really make sense for a summer program.

Other than that, we’re really excited about summer…we have a trip to Maine planned for July 4-8….we’re going to drive up starting on the 3rd, and we have a friend’s wedding on the 7th (anna and brandon’s). It will be fun to be in Maine again.

For those of you who got your invitations….SEND YOUR CARDS BACK! Even if you can’t make it to the wedding, please respond and write “0″ for number of persons attending. And if you can come, we need to know what you want for dinner…Thanks!

Liz

end of April

April 29, 2007 on 11:35 am | In General | No Comments

Hello! We are FINALLY living in the house, and we have been moving, painting, and unpacking for the past several weeks. There are so many house projects we hope to do, which is fun and also overwhelming. We’ve painted our bedroom blue, and the dining room will soon be peach with aqua accents…pretty! We should be out of the apartment this weekend. Most of you should have gotten your save the date cards by now…except of course for those of you who chose not to provide your address when asked! if you are planning on staying over after the wedding it would be a good idea to call the CT grand hotel now to make your reservation. It’s finally spring here, and we’ve been enjoying our porch! I’ve even forced Phil to run with me a few times! We’re really excited about summer and the wedding…talk to you later!

It has been wonderful to see all the familar faces and have a good time! We are about a week away from the closing of our house and we are so excited! Next friday we travel to Florida for a friend’s wedding and we get to spend friday enjoying the warmer weather. Today it hit 85 degrees here!

Exciting update!

We are buying a house! It’s a rowhouse in Charles Village, which is in a more northern part of the city than where we live now. It’s near Johns Hopkins and it’s a really cute house! The closing date is March 30th so we’ll be moving throughout April.  Can’t wait!

Joe comes to visit this weekend (we have Monday off for President’s Day)….that’s all for now!

January

Today our real estate agent told us that the house that we want is going under contract! … And not with us …  We are a bit upset but it is probably for the best because we don’t really have all the money required for new home ownership. It was fun to dream though while it lasted.
I have posted more photos of the hikes from the fall and they should have organized on Flickr within a few days. Be sure to check them out!
Hopefully we will have a new tab on the site with more wedding details… I best get on it. Don’t for get to check out Joe’s website (link on right) and chick on the ads to help support our webpages! -Phil

update!

January 13, 2007 on 7:13 pm | In General | 1 Comment

We had a fabulous Christmas break, split between Maine and Connecticut. It was hectic, but we got to see a lot of people we haven’t seen in awhile. We’re getting back into the routine of things in Baltimore with work and such. We’re currently house hunting, and we hope to buy a house soon, which is very exciting!

We’re hoping to get married this August, hopefully the 4th or the 11th. We’re trying to finalize with a church so we can make official plans. We can’t wait!

It doesn’t seem like it will ever be winter in Baltimore…it has been cooling down a little but definitley no snow in the near future.

That’s all for now!
